Last Thursady night i smuggled a hip flask of whiskey and watched four hours of H P Lovecraft inspired movies at 'Time Capsules' the film night in Collingwood. The whiskey was to invoke eurphoric 1930s occult wozzyness. There was lots of intensity, lots of gore and a hint of truth in dark resesses of unconciousness we best not explore.
A book that i very much ejoyed several years ago is now a movie. Its a fantastic movie, and i HIGhLY recomend you all go cheack it out. Its 'PERFUME' .Maybe its even in my top ten favourite movies, which is good going because im pretty fussy. I just spent the last three weeks working intensivly on 'Luxury Item' with 'THe aduly youth of Today' crew. I had my doupts right up untill the opening night but it all went pretty smoothly. I was 'feed' champaign throughout , as part of being an audience plant, which led to drunkeness later on ... fun at the time but not REALLY my cup of tea. Today, now that theater stuff is out of the way, Im considering developing my sence of smell.
I went and got some tubes of paint and some brushes. Im going to start an epic 'animal painting project'. One must paint what is beautiful, Profound and Wild!! Humans are derrr brains, Animals are cool!
Last night i went and saw the first in a series of 'Time Capsule' films presented by a film buff friend of mine, Dean, who has great intellectual tastes in the weird and wonderful. The theme of the night was 'Extradimensional Yearnings'. This short film was one of them, 'AH POOK IS HERE'. Biking home after the show i was very tripped out from three hours of visual overloading. The question now being how can I use some of the downloaded data to influence my own art?
