yesterday i went with a friend to the Art Deco Exhibition on at the National Gallery in Melbourne. A very inspiring show full of fine masterpieces. Its fun to feel nostalgic over a time one was never involved in, as though in some way you were. i recommend a visit to the arts of old in any form. This painting was particularly stunning.
Im to go, very very(very) early on tuesday morning to Parkdale to help film, via better computers, virtual sail boat racing. Starr Sonic, seen in this vid, has invited me to do some camera work, for live virtual television. This is getting to be a very kooky pass time.
This is a Gallery and studio space ive been allowed to play in within Second Life. Its just ROLE PLAY really but a fun one. I have to remain true to the 'BloodLines' Mythos thus creating works of art about vampires and the like. The studio is upstairs which ill have canvases lying about and pictures ive done, down stairs is the gallery with featured art works from art history. I play a blood sucking Toreador who, for want of something better to do, scours the art world for the blood of rich patrons and desperate artists.
Another Second Life post im afraid. Last evening I went to a lecture, in real life, at The National Galley Of Victoria entitled 'Virtual Media-Fashion and Identity in Second Life'. It was very inspiring indeed , confirming my own suspicions as to the implications on us all, within the media of virtual reality. I cant possibly do a run down here on this little post , but there was a phrase in the lecture i liked. Something like "we are aliken to people in 1902 , having just seen 'A trip to the moon' by Georges Méliès,and getting a glimpse into the possibility's of cinema'.
This is my girlfriend and partner in Second Life,Melody Trefusis. We hang out, role play and explore the virtual world together. We belong to the same extended family in (at presant) three different role play worlds. When i see her coming online my heart skips a beat. I know her real life but a little, she plays in Zentai outfits and lives in Louisiana , but real life is secondary when it comes to virtual relations. For now she is Pyewackets love and its very real. =^_^=
The DoLL came out last weekend. Still, the costume is only half complete. I got my Beige Zentai outfit in the mail on Wednesday so soon she'll be different again. I did a cool little 5 min act within a show put on by the VooDoo trash dolls.
Another turn of events for me this week was the realization that i was never going to get a job within the security industry. ( who wants to work for those f**kers anyway!) Since the decision to drop that idea I've have TWO proposals to act/play/puppet for schools talking about re-cycling. a MUCH more noble job i 'rekon!!
